On 6th September 2018, Indian authorities scrapped Section 377 - the notorious law which made gay sex a crime.
This fantastic, important (and long-overdue) news called for a proper celebration. And so Dishoom and Gaysians teamed up to bring you the 377 Scrapped Party at Protein Studios in Shoreditch.
A big-hearted party celebrating freedom, love, and respect, there were an awesome of line-up speakers and performers from the British Asian LGBT+ community, followed by back-to-back DJ sets from LOIAL and DJ Ritu.
Dishoom served plentiful Bombay snacks to all guests, and kept the tipples flowing from the bar.*
Supported by The Unmistakables.
All ticket proceeds were split between Sappho for Equality, an organisation based in Kolkata that works for the rights of lesbians, bisexual women, and trans men in Eastern India, and SAATHII, a charity with offices across India that envisions universal access to rights, health, legal and social services for communities marginalised by HIV status, gender and/or sexuality.
What's more, our friends at Natco kindly agreed to match all funds raised from tickets and on the night.
